Last night I had a chicken sleeping on haybales idk why but I had her in the net but she got out and ran into the trees and she just started Doing This

I have about 30 chickens so I don't know if that has something to do with it
And she is one of the first birds I had

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Chickens do like to roost high so that they can feel safe from predators. Do your birds free range and that is why she was able to get on the hay and then the trees? You could try putting her in a run do she can't escape and can only go to the coop to roost.

Wishing you the very best of luck in getting her back into the coop on an evening.

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!

I hope you can catch her and lock her in the coop. She has to be retrained to go there. Outside she is a sitting duck for predators. Do you know if she is being bullied and maybe that is why she avoids the coop? Or is you coop overcrowded? Chickens should have 4-5 sq.feet per bird in the coop excluding nest boxes and roosts, and 10 sq. feet per bird in the outdoor run.

Do you have a covered run you can keep her in outside, so she is protected.?

Chickens are free range they get out at noon and put back in from around 7 to 8 and they have put your father room and she is one of the original birds she's always sitting by the rooster so I know if he's starting to pack her or something
