I have an outside pen that I move around the yard when I do not want my chickens free, (hawks fying around) I asked my husband to move it and as he went to put it down he got the chickens leg. She was not feeling well this morning with her tail down, but she ate. She has a long cut on her leg. It is not a deep cut, and is ever so slightly swollen. She doesn't even look like she is limping. What would be good measure to keep infection out and to help heal. Should I seperate her? She has been eating. Thank you.

Separate her with food and water away from the rest. They could increase her chances of getting an infection while being around her flock.
Use this link, it is helpful for when your chickens are wounded:

So, basically, use hydrogen peroxide (we use this on our own wounds sometimes to keep it from getting infected). This is a strong way to help with prevention of infection. Good luck!

;)Thank you for replying. I seperated her, washed her leg and applied some Hydrogen Peroxide. She ate and is resting comfotablely. I'll see how she is in a few day and I am pretty confident she will pull through and be up and around in no time.;)

That's good! I hope she gets better in those few days. Fill me in on her health if you can!
