Timing is everything--I'd found a video that seemed great earlier, but no real response from the chick. Played it a few times a few minutes ago, and s/he really started pushing to try to get out! I spoke too soon! I went to take a pic of how close s/he was, and by the time the phone focused, here we were:
After weeks of complaining about how hard it is to get a good pic, I finally figured out that placing the lens against the 'bator between the heating elements works quite well.
I finally got to watch a hatch
