Price of a buff Orpington pollet

How much on average should a buff Orpington pollster cost. I found someone near me selling at $15 a piece but don't want to overpay

How old is the bird? I think that's fair for a POL bird.

I calculated once that it takes me close to $100 to raise a trio to 6 months of age. Feed is expensive, not to mention grit, oyster shell, electricity (incubation/brooding/lighting), equipment, straw, pine shavings, buildings, fencing. meds if needed.

I just sold a pair for $50 to a former customer.

Very fair price for a quality bird regardless of breed.

 

I don't know why people sell pullets for $10 and lose money. I'd rather eat a bird I raised than lose money selling it.
