I am vacationing in Kauai, and have been enjoying the local chicken TV. smile.png Any guesses on the breeds behind this handsome fellow? Many of the roosters here look similar. They are so pretty!

Looks like some sort of game breed. Probably Old English Game.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

They're feral chickens that have probably been interbreeding freely for multiple generations. They were based on game birds, but who knows what else may have been introduced over the years. Same principle as the mustang horses.

Agreed; My family and I recently moved from Hawaii where we lived for 23 years, and all the major islands there have loads of feral game chickens running around on them.

Very cool. I knew they were several generations feral, but I find it interesting that many of them are very similar to each other. smile.png
