Cat tree?

Okay so I really want a cat tree for my cat but my problem is that they are so expensive and ridiculous and so many of them also happen to be fairly flimsy and/or made with particle board. Even if they're pretty sturdy most are still made with particle board. Now, this really wouldn't be an issue for us as we only have the one cat and she is tiny and fairly laidback but still. If I'm going to pay that much I'd at least like it to be quality. I've also noticed that most seem to be made with carpet which supposedly is harder to clean. I found one with faux fur but I don't know how easy or hard that is to get.

SO.

Point being that they all fairly outrageous (or maybe I am just frugal) so I have decided that I would like to build my own.

Now, I did find one AMAZING one for a great price, like $95 ($111 for the same thing different color, I don't know) and it is awesome and other similar ones have wayyyyy less features for wayyyy more or the same price. I am seriously considering buying this one.

These are it:

I even just hit their brand to search for the other and found yet another for $80 :O

Here is the search because at this point there's too many to list individually lol

Now, as far as I can tell these are the same exact tree and a GREAT deal so I guess maybe I could just buy it and this thread would be pointless but I don't know.

My point was I'd like to build my own and wanted ideas on how to/materials and where to get the stuff and all that and I still would like that but now I'm wondering if it's even possible to build something that nice for $81 or even less than $100? If so I would like to. We have a lot of wood lying around so that part should be pretty easy, only thing is I'd need round poles and the carpeting unless I could use tree branches?

Posted this really late so I'm posting it again. Sorry, I know I jumped all over the place. I really would still like to build one though
