Does anyone here actually have this permit? Or at least a good understanding of what is involved? I've been trying to find some more information on it but the only thing I can find that isn't legal jargon, is a FAQs sheet that really doesn't explain much.
My main question is, the facts sheet says there will be an initial inspection but what would they be looking for? Florida is so weird and often vague with their laws, it's hard to determine whether or not something is worth pursuing. At one point in time I wanted to make and sell body scrubs, when I called the state office that deals with cosmetics, they basically told me I would just have to pay for the permit and inspection to find out what was required because it's "up to the inspectors interpretation." Sometimes I really hate this state, not very homestead friendly. Anyway, any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hey!! Sorry you haven't found what you're looking for so far. I know that where I live in North Port if you live in a residential neighborhood and have a 'hobby' as they call it you can't sell eggs. However in the acreage part of NP you can sell the eggs from your home or farmers market. I know down here the ordinances are right on the county website as to how start the process of selling from you're home if you live in the designated area. If you can't get an exact answer from there my other suggestion would be to go to your closest local farmers market, for us its actually at City Hall. I'd ask one of the purveyors how the limited poultry and egg farm law works. I'm sure they'd be willing to help!

I'm wondering if you ever found an answer? I live in Orlando and have 13 chickens, so was planning on selling eggs to support my chicken habit. We have bees and sell the honey, which isn't too complicated, so I was assuming selling eggs would be similar.
