Injury or Ear problem?

Our hen Eggy seems to have blood coming from her ear and a little spot on the point of her comb. After realizing this is her ear, I'm wondering if she has something going on inside and she's bleeding out her ear or she caught it on something. How should I treat this? Clear away the blood and see what I find? this is our first batch of hens so I'm not sure what to do. She's eating and drinking fine and acting otherwise normal (normal for a chicken any way!).

This is the "good side" (she's the one in front)and I can see her ear lobe is smaller than the other white Rock hen.

You pullet appears to be bright, alert, and in apparent good health. I seriously doubt that she has any internal ear problems. It is very likely that she scratched her earlobe or another bird pecked her there. In cooler temperatures birds will bleed more from such slight injuries. You might want to clean it off and apply a little Blu Kote. Make sure that the rest of the flock does not start pecking at this wound.
