RIR or mixed breed? 1 week old hatches?

I got these eggs on Craigslist. They were advertised as RIRs, but when I picked them up he said they were 3/4 RIRs and 1/4 Jersey Giant. He said he does this because it basically makes a larger RIR that lays bigger eggs.

Sooo,some of these are normal dark red RIR color with black tipped wings coming out. But some of the are super light almost tawny.

Did I get some red star mixes?

Thoughts?

When you have mixes, They will look all different and not consistent. ITS NOT A BAD THING.. You will be able to tell what is in them genetically better when they grow older.

I Oh no worries, I think they are adorable! In my last batch I bought some "Polish" eggs and my best guess is Polish /cochin frizzles. They are adorable! So the mix doesn't really bother me as that's what I will end up with eventually anyway, I just wanted to start with known breeds.

They are definitely NOT Rhode Island Reds or New Hampshire Reds. They appear to be a cross or something else altogether. Hard to tell at this point.
