A) By participating in this game, I promise that all BYC Rules will be followed and that I have read and understood the Role Play Rules that are in a sticky at the top of the Games forum.
B) I promise that all content is to be rated G and suitable for all ages.
C) I promise that there will be no swearing, cursing (including censoring by using symbols) or inappropriate adult sexual activity or innuendo. This extends to mating, breeding or innuendo in non-human characters as well.
D) I promise to treat others with respect and kindness as is the BYC way.
E) I promise not to post any material that is a violation of copyright. Basically this means: if you didn't create the content (like an image / picture) and don't have direct permission from the content creator to post it, then don't.
There is a hidden world that has been hidden for hundreds of years, and it's a complete secret to most normal humans.
There are large towns and shops in this world of sorcery, and a large school that teaches children (young witches and wizards) how to use their powers, about the magic around them, etc. There is an entire forest full of mythical creatures next to it, dangerous and gentle, and even the water is full of amazing things.
This school is huge, and you stay there all year except for Summer vacation and the Holidays, though leaving during the Holidays is optional.
Maps of the school and of the land:
You are sent to this school when you are 11, and you "graduate" when you're 17.
The most important rule is that you can NOT go into the forest, it is extremely dangerous and full of creatures who love to eat people.
There are four houses:
Slytherin, Gryfinndor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.
The people in your house will be (or are supposed to be) like your family and together you are supposed to get the most points so you will win the house cup by the end of the year, which is basically a trophy. Break the rules and lose points, do good deeds and earn points!

A wizard/witch cannot do magic without his/her wand.
Nearly 100% of the time the wizard/witch must say a spell to cast it. (Look up Harry Potter spells

The owner of the school is the only one who can hire and fire teachers, and expel students, though the teachers get a say in expelling someone.
If you are young (11-14) then you probably can't do many really useful and amazing spells.
An animagus is not an animal who can turn into a human, it is a human with the gift of turning into an animal.
There is a very large basement, but it isn't on any of the maps.
You can have one of these pets;
A rat, owl, cat, raven, crow, rabbit, toad, pigeon, or snake.
If you are 11, you do not have a house yet. This role play will take place during the arrival to the school when it starts, so first years won't know their house until a little later that day.
The dorms aren't on the map.
