Thank you to you all for your kind words.

Her death will not be in vane. I did an Autopsy the next morning and took step by step photographs of the procedure. I am hoping that at least one person will learn something about their chicken's anatomy and give them a better understanding of their birds.

Some of my pictures didn't come out as well as I'd hoped ( camera controls and viewing screen wrapped in clingfilm!) but they are good enough to show the important things.

I took about 85 shots altogether and I'm hoping to put that into one large thread post with 'commentary'.

Thanks again to you all xx

I do post mortems (autopsies) on my chickens too although I've not taken photos before. I've stopped suggesting other people do it because most people find the idea offensive, but I think it's really important to try to figure out why they died so that it can hopefully enable me to prevent other deaths or assess when euthanasia is necessary.... which gives me more confidence to make that difficult decision .

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your photos and perhaps relating what you found to some of the things I've seen in my chickens. Can you post a link to the photo thread on this thread so that I don't miss it.

Thanks

Barbara

I'm having trouble creating the post/article altogether Barbara. The editing stuff doesn't seem to work for me ( size, colour etc) and if I add in a photo it always adds it to the top off the page and I have trouble dragging it to the right place. With 65 photos to add I was peed off by the time I'd put 4 in so I gave up last night!

I'm not sure if it's my Windows 10 that's doing it as I haven't had trouble before. I can't copy and paste from another document either so I can't do it on my laptop and then transfer it.

I'll keep trying because I want to create a file with explanations of what all the bits people are seeing are.

I've managed to upload all the pictures though.
