Hi, We have just bought some Warren hens , will they need extra light to continue laying through winter?
Thanks, Sue

Pullets that have just started to lay really shouldn't need any extra light, but holding them at twelve to fifteen hours will assure them to continue. A year old hen that has gone through molt will do best with an increase in the length of day to start her laying again. If I add light I start by adding a half hour every week to ten days till the length of light they have is around that twelve to fifteen hours.
