Restoring our 1930's coop

Laying on top of ground or digging 2" is always easier than digging down 12-24"...can't think of a scenario were it wouldn't be.


Well, in my case a good example is a driveway that runs right next to this fence. If I lay the hardware cloth out 12-24" into the driveway from the soft dirt under the fence it'd be torn to bits and useless in no time at all. ;)
 
Great advise here, and I am planing on building a new door out of left over materials. I totally agree about the stepping back in time , and that's why I did all the extra work to save the old coop. I look at that old coop knowing that it helped my family through the Depression
