my male mallard duck cant stand up every time he tries he rolls to his sides.. he cant swim either when we put him in the water he rolls to his sides.. he wont eat or drink either does anyone know what might b wrong with him.. he was 1 day old when I got him and the other 7 in may of 2015.. the other 7 ducks r fine but they wont go near him.. please help..

he might have a paralysis disease best thing to do is get him to a vet to be treated or if he cant be treated they can at least try and make him comfortable.

Sounds very serious and could be many things. Botulism, Avian Hepatitis, heavy metal poisoning, a back injury, etc. Impossible for us to tell you, unfortunately. :/ Sounds like he needs a vet right away.

 

In the meantime, can you separate him and keep him someplace safe and warm with all of his favorite treats? It's extremely important that he starts eating and drinking as soon as possible. Vitamins in his water will also help give him a little boost. But please, take him to a vet if at all possible. This really does sound very serious.
