double yolker- one embryo died

Thread Starter

One of the embryos in my double yolker died.  The other twin is still alive.  Will the dead twin be killed by it or just be absorbed you think?
The eggs were shipped and very poorly at that.  Down to three eggs and only on day 8.  Also the egg that did have twins has a detached air cell.  :(
Is there hope for my little Cream Legbar?  :hit

It is very rare that double Yokers make it. Fingers crossed for you. It still has quite a few days to go so the little one that died will start to decompose. Sorry.

I'm so sorry to hear that! But as said, the embryo that is not developing will kill the living embryo by decomposing( bacteria infections etc)... Sorry hope the other tow hatch ...

Out of curiosity, what day are you on?  Did you leave the egg in the bator or remove it?

Some days you just have to put on the hat and remind them who they are dealing with. Release the flying monkies!
