I just bought the cringe worthy LG 9300 from Tractor Supply for $45 and ordered a dozen coturnix quail eggs for my first hatch in a very long time. Pray for me lol. The incubator is up and running at between 99 and 100 degrees and I rigged a computer fan to it to circulate the air. It is in a closed off room that is temperature controlled by a space heater to stay at 72 degrees so hopefully that will help. The eggs will be coming from Florida and I will be picking them up at the post office so they don't freeze outside on my porch if I miss the mail. I will be hand turning. With any luck I will have some hatch.

So how is your hatch going?
Quail eggs are hard to candle. I usually use an led penlight. If the light glows blue, then the eggs is not fertile. If there is a reddish glow or a brown glow, I leave it in the incubator. I get 1/2 fertility and then 1/2 live hatch.
I'm hatching Coturnix quail today....so far, 15 of 25 chicks have popped out.
