Well I was trying to be artistic with my duck photographs and get down to their level but I forgot about the hens roaming around and yes you guessed it, I got a peck right on the eyeball!!! Lesson learn't lol!

Yeah just sore and a bit sticky yuk,she got the side of my eyeball, they're so quick!! Luckily I have eye drops in the house, will keep it clean and see how it goes! At least I won't nd a Halloween mask, I can be the lady with the fungus eye lol!!!
 
You're not the only one lol... I wear glasses, which they seem to like even more than the eyes themselves :p

My biggest stupid though, (and I was sure it would have happened from getting too snuggly) was when I was innocently gathering eggs chatting with the hen on the roost at eye level, and she pecked my lip! :(

Shut me up right quick :D
 
I've had a few hard pecks. Well, there are pecks as in " I don't have opposable thumbs, so I'm checking this out with my beak" and then there are bites... Open beak, clamp down and twist, as in "I don't need opposable thumbs to take a chunk out of you"... Those chickens get the "Cesar Milan"; the quick poke and a loud "psssssst!". It works for us. ;)

Edited to add: The Cesar Milan works great on kids too.

*Kidding. I don't hiss at my kids. (Usually)
