Is this an actual color?

I have been calling her ginger. She is supposed to be an OEGB. She is too big, but still one of my favorites because I love her coloring.

Ginger is a beautiful hen. She looks like my Old English Game Hens. Mine are bantams. It could be that you have a standard size mixed to be medium size ??? The OEG fowl is a very old breed of chickens. The standard are a different bloodline from the bantams. (Wikipedia reading) Here is a pix of my banties. I have 4, the other 2 are silver laced. Looks like yours only smaller.

I think Ginger is gorgeous! Since she free ranges, it is important that she have nice camouflage from airborne predators. Her dried-grass color and nice feather shafting and striping allow her to blend in nicely. She's one of my favorite hen colors, regardless of whether it is an "official" color for the breed or not. (And I'm not implying that it's not an official color -- I have no idea, as I know nothing about OEGs, although I think they come in just about every color out there.)

Oddly enough, this is one of only a few of my birds that never seemed to get a name (although I think she has one now).
She always stays out of trouble and isn't one that mobs me at feeding time. She's raised 3 broods for me this year! Just a really awesome little bird.
@cavemanrich I have some Silver Duckwings and I'm thinking your's are Golden Duckwing. Your hens look like their size and type are much better than Ginger. She is definitely bantam size. Just not as small as she should be. I suspect she is mixed with something else bantam. She's about the same size as my Silver Duckwing rooster.
@Sydney Acres She is my favorite colored hen too. That is why I'm hoping she is a "real" color. I would kind of like to have another one her color. Preferably one that is also "really" an OEGB so I can show her. If she really is ginger colored, I think this is one color I actually like the female coloring better than the male coloring. I have only ever seen the ginger variety in pictures though.

From the looks of that picture you may very well have one. This link show both a Cock and Hen.

OOOOOOHHHH, sorry, I misunderstood. I assumed when you used the lower case "g" that it was a typo.

There are many, many colors of OEGB that people raise that are not in the SOP, so it is possible that she is a commonly bred color without being an SOP color. I checked my SOP and did not find the Ginger Red in full size that available from Cackle hatchery, but my SOP is from 1998. It could have been added since that time. However, the Ginger Red in bantam size is in my SOP. The lacing pattern of the Ginger Red from Cackle is quite different from the pattern on your hen, so it may not be the same genetics, although the colors are definitely similar.

Where did you get her from? If a private breeder, do they have any more like her? What do her brothers look like from the same breeding? She could be an extremely light Black Breasted Red. The "Black Breasted" notation applies to the male. The female is supposed to have a golden head, golden hackles with thick black center striping, a salmon colored breast, and a beautiful brown feather with stippling on the back, but some end up quite a bit lighter. They also aren't supposed too have any shafting on the feathers, but it commonly occurs. She does have a beautiful double lacing pattern on her back, plus shafting of the feathers, so she's probably an unrecognized color, but she's really gorgeous. No harm in starting a color project with her. They don't have to be SOP to be fabulous.

Can't see her legs clearly enough... Ginger Reds have dark slate legs... she might be a Ginger Red cross if the legs are light... let me go grab a link to a good thread for you...

You are correct. I went to Cackle hatchery site and looked at the Golden Duckwing, and sure do look similar. My other 2 are Silver Duckwings. I only have chickens as pets and not for show.. Luv my lil mutts. .. Now I know a little more specific info about them, But they are still Old English Game hens.. I also learned that their roots go back to the Jungle Fowl.
