Broody hen attacking people

HI,
I have a hen called Bow who is broody at the moment. She screams at us a lot but say she is sat next to us on a chair or on our lap (she enjoys hugs), sometimes when we touch her she will turn around her head and peck really hard. This morning she was on my mum's lap and my mum had her hands nowhere near Bow but she pecked her hands. Then when she was stroked she bit her 5 times then attempted to charge at her face.

What is wrong with her? she has been broody before but never this aggressive. She is about 9months old and is a bantam cross.

If she's broody leave her alone. Animals under the influence of reproductive hormones are temperamental and unpredictable.

We are taking her out and trying to break her brood and as she is hormonal she comes up for cuddles but then sometimes attacks us? then snuggles back in
 
Put her in an isolation cage for 2 to 3 days and nights, with food, water and absolutely no bedding or nesting material. This should be sufficient to break her. She should be back to her sweet self after being broken of her broodiness.

My experience went like this: After her setting for 3 days and nights in the nest, I put her in a wire dog crate with smaller wire on the bottom but no bedding, set up on a couple of 4x4's right in the coop and I would feed her some crumble a couple times a day.

I let her out a couple times a day and she would go out into the run, drop a huge turd, race around running, take a vigorous dust bath then head back to the nest... at which point I put her back in the crate. Each time her outings would lengthen a bit, eating, drinking and scratching more and on the 3rd afternoon she stayed out of the nest and went to roost that evening...event over, back to normal tho she didn't lay for another week or two.

When my hen is broody, she will peck the living daylights out of everyone who dares to disturb her - apart from me (not saying she loves it, but tolerates it). Ditto with her chicks - i can pick them up etc with no problem, but woe betide anyone else who tries!
