LG 9300 & Incutherm

The factory thermometer/hygrometer on the LG is notoriously incorrect. I would suggest you purchase an additional hygrometer (calibrated with the salt water test http://exoticpets.about.com/od/herpresources/ss/hygrometer.htm#step7) to go with your Incutherm. Also, when incubating with foam incubators, it's super important to have it located in a room with less than 2 degrees temp fluctuation--this will help the incubator's temp stay steady. This may be a silly question but which vent hole does the IncuTherm Plus probe need to be placed through. I get very different reading between the front and back vent with the thermometer. Which vent would give the most accurate interior temp reading?

The reason your getting two different readings is the proximity to the heating element from the 2 vent holes. This why it's best to use an independent thermometer and hygrometer that have been calibrated.
I wouldn't trust either OME thermometer or hygrometer.
