I see a lot of bad reviews on the LG 9300 and some good ones as well. Either way, that's what I have so I'm sticking with it for now. However I did buy an Incutherm Plus digital thermometer as well. I have been experimenting with the 9300 and move the factory sensor around inside along with the Incutherm. For the most part they stay pretty close together on the temp....sometimes the Incutherm will show a spike of 104 for some reason. The humidity readings tend to vary between the two thermometers more than what seems okay. I plugged the LG in last night and this morning the humidity on the LG was 68% and on the Incutherm it was 35%.

I haven't tried to hatch any eggs yet but I just bought 11 Cortunix and have 2 eggs. When I get about 15 or so I am going to try and hatch some. I am concerned about the fluctuation in temp and humidity between the two thermometers though. Any tips or thoughts?

The factory thermometer/hygrometer on the LG is notoriously incorrect. I would suggest you purchase an additional hygrometer (calibrated with the salt water test http://exoticpets.about.com/od/herpresources/ss/hygrometer.htm#step7) to go with your Incutherm. Also, when incubating with foam incubators, it's super important to have it located in a room with less than 2 degrees temp fluctuation--this will help the incubator's temp stay steady. Hope this helps, and have a great hatch! :)

This may be a silly question but which vent hole does the IncuTherm Plus probe need to be placed through. I get very different reading between the front and back vent with the thermometer. Which vent would give the most accurate interior temp reading?
The reason your getting two different readings is the proximity to the heating element from the 2 vent holes. This why it's best to use an independent thermometer and hygrometer that have been calibrated.
I wouldn't trust either OME thermometer or hygrometer.
