Raising Baby Chicks

Thread Starter

I have been raising chickens for the first time in my life, they are 6 months old and have started laying eggs I have 17 hens (6 buff orpington 6 baredrock 5 austrolorpes) and 2 (austrolorpe) roosters (spelling is off)........ I am going to let my hens sit on a small amount of eggs and let them hatch them out, but im curious if when the chicks get older and mature they start getting ready for their egg laying process....is there such a thing as inbreeding chickens? Would I need to get new roosters? I have been told that the roosters I have now would be plum fine fertilizing the chicks eggs when they are grown but it just seems wrong to me...???
