Strange wing feathering on chick?

I bought 5 baby chicks from a local guy, one of which was really tiny but I fell in love so why not! It's a blue laced red whyndotte (or so I was told) anyway! Breed doesn't matter but the tiniest one has odd wing feathering. The other 3 like him all have filled out wings (though they are almost twice its size)

See how there is a space in there. The rest of my chicks (no matter breed) have filled out wings straight all the way across. Should I be worried? I'm in love with the tiny one! XD people always say to leave the runt animals but I'm like but tiny....

This is it beside one of my EE lady chicks (they all get along very well and no pecking or fighting)
He/she eats very well and is very fast and healthy. I just wanted to know if the wings being the way they are is an issue to worry about! Thanks for help and advise! I want to make sure he/she grows up to be happy and healthy!
 
Well I'm sure he will be just fine :) if he is eating and playing like all the other chicks then he should be okay. I don't know what you mean though about the wing.? Like are you talking about how some of the feathers are bigger than the others.?

Well it's like there are missing feathers. Right where the V is. My other chicks feathers go across and fill in all the way so it's like a section is missing. Right there in the middle, like column of feathers just aren't there. And it's on both sides. Maybe it is nothing but I was worried because all other chicks have a set of feathers across and no gap.
 
Oh I see, maybe since he's a runt, he was hatched with a little mutation or something. Or maybe he just needs more time to sprout those feathers because he's a runt.
Kinda looks like he is missing his flight feathers, I could be wrong but I remember my chicks having all the first feathers and being able to fly at almost three weeks.
But whatever it is, I'm sure it won't affect his life because you said he seems happy and healthy, he might just not be able to fly well so keep him safe

It could just be a gap where the feathers haven't grown in yet, or it could be split wing (which would be a DQ if you intend to show or could pass on if you intend to breed).

Either way, it won't hurt the little one :)

Hi. I'm new to owning baby chicks. We just picked up four last Sunday, 2 cuckoo Marans and 2 welsummers. They seem to be eating, drinking, moving, and growing just fine. One of our marans has a wing that doesn't lay smooth like the others but she seems to move it just fine. When her wing is stretched out it looks similar to the one at the top of the post. Here is the best picture i could get for now.
