Hello from Kansas! Getting peafowl and guineas!

Thanks for the info and pictures! I just read through most of the recent posts on the peafowl section and came across the videos in one of the threads there.

Do you have dirt only as the flooring? Do you worry about predator proofing the area?

The flooring is dirt. I make sure the pens are predator proof. Burring a board to take up more time for something to try and dig under and the peafowl get locked inside at night. That way if something breaks inside the outside pen I don't have to worry about them getting inside. The chicken wire on the inside of the new pen is 4' above ground that they would need to get a running start and jump at the right time. Except I test the chicken wire by leaning on it or running into it. It sometimes hurts when it doesn't go down but at least I know nothing will get through. Surprisingly nothing has actually tried to dig. Probably do to the fact we have 4 Border Collie dogs that are near the coops along with the house. Peafowl when threatened will let out a loud honk that it will wake up anything especially the dogs making them come running and barking. Luckily there has only pen one predator that my peafowl could detect. Not sure if they could here something moving or could smell it making them honk. Other than that never had a predator thankfully.
