Hello, my name is Frank and I just joined. I only have 5 chickens right now but want to grow. Primary purpose is meat and eggs. As a kid thru teen years my family raised chickens and at one point had over 100 with 50 of them being new chicks. We even hatched a dozen of our own eggs. Not sure if I did it right but I added a picture of my granddaughters in my temp coop. Building anew 8 foot by 10 foot coop currently. Can someone tell from the pics what breed my chickens are?

Can't tell really, can take a guess at the rooster..looks to be an EE..Easter Egger, EE's hens lay the blue, blue/green eggs. I am looking forward to a couple of my pullets to start laying, they should lay a colored egg like this. :)

Cute kids!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. The rooster is a mixed breed; perhaps an Easter Egger. The other birds are too far away and at bad angles to ID their breeds (especially looking a them through the wire. If you can post some closeup full body profiles we can probably ID them for you. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Welcome to BYC, it's really better to have individual photos of birds and no wire or other distractions, for the most accurate assessment. You can also post at "what breed or gender is this." for more opinions.
