Hello, I have a Wyandotte who regularly free ranges. For the past couple of days she will NOT leave the coop. She isn't laying in a nest and hasn't attacked or growled when I collect eggs. Could she still be broody or is it something else?

Yes, I have a total of 10 chickens who all free range. She is the only one who will not come out. I have had her for a little over 4 months now. She has free ranged the entire time with no issues. She is not picked on by the others, but for the past few days she stays in the coop. There is food and water access in the coop.

Normally they would at least be sitting in a corner somewhere if not on the nest. Ours got attacked by a goshawk recently and the one closest to the one killed stayed pretty much in the coop for a few days. She would come out to eat then go back inside. I wonder if something scared yours?

She doesn't sound broody at all. You did say you had her for 4 months, is that from a chick or is she a grown hen that you added to your flock? If she is only 4 months old, I highly doubt she is broody. Sounds like she is scared of something or is getting picked on. That is a possibility if she was is a grown hen or pullet added to an established flock.

I am afraid she could be sick, hens go home when they get sick, they feel it is safer there. when they get broody they go to the nest.
check her crop if it is big
