Anyone is worthy of petting her once she's eyed em up and down to make sure they're OK, and she'll stand statue-like while enjoying all the snuggles! She's quieter now that she's laying and is just a joy to have around. Gosh I adore her!

Pear Jr used to hug you with his neck! Glad you're enjoying Cas!
R.I.P. Pear, you'll always be in my heart. Fly over that rainbow bridge for me.

She sounds precious, and she is not only doing all of this because she loves you but she is feeling those sexual urges and all the cuddles and petty kinda make up for not having a gander.  What are you going to do when she becomes broody?

Don't forget pics.

I bought some fake wooden eggs from the craft store. If she becomes broody I guess I could let her sit on those? Right now she has no interest in her eggs and actually yells at me to remove them! Lol

I was thinking of getting her a gosling in the spring, to see if she wants to raise a buddy? Not really sure yet, as this is still all new to me! She seems to like baby geese, but not bigger ones, so I'm not sure how she'd even take to having a friend. I also worry about her jealousy. Would she feel replaced or something with another goose around? I have no idea!

Once she got use to the idea I think she'd take to a gosling they have wonderful parenting skills and my 2 raised the gosling i gave them like their own. I just didn't let them have them right off but circumstances were different here since i had to wait for Missy to get over being broody and losing her gosling.  But if introductions are done right Cas will love having a baby and a friend for life. I really don't think she would feel jealousy but she will become very protective of her baby. You have raised her with love so I can't see her feeling replaced by getting another gosling and you'll be letting her raise it.  or sharing in the raising. I waited till my goslings were 3 weeks old before I let my 2 adults have them  for good but it took Missy that long to bond with them. My gander accidentally stepped on one of our ducklings some years back so I was a bit over protective about giving him and Missy those babies at such a tiny age. He is kinda of a  clutch, always has his head in the air and doesn't pay much attention where he is walking [just like a gander]

Cassy doesn't always watch where she's going either, so I think I'd keep them separate but able to see each other until the baby would be big enough to avoid her clumsy feet! Lol

Cas had me laughing so hard last night! I bought this little toy turtle thing that plays music and lights up. After playing with it for awhile she decided she wanted to sit on it and it continued lighting up through her feathers making her look very festive and she looked so confused at her glowing feathers, I just couldn't stop laughing! I never would have thought geese can be so comical!

They are a hoot aren't they. By 3 weeks my 2 lil gosling were sturdy and big enough to stay out of the way of clumsy adults.  And what fun it was to watch them all together.
