My flock needs more protein, what can I give them, how much, and for how long?

What is the protein content of what you are currently feeding? What is your goal in increasing the protein content of your feed program? What breed, age, gender of birds are you feeding?

I'm feeding a mix between flock raiser n purina layena. All layers about 1 n a half. N 1 youngster who isn't laying yet. I'm not looking to constantly up it. They just having some issues at the moment and are plucking each others feathers to eat them, and 1 or 2 are moulting, ect..

While birds are in molt a 22-24% protein feed would aid them. Nothing wrong with higher protein levels for growing birds too. You didn't specify what the protein content was in the all flock feed. Even 20% would be beneficial. I'd stop the layer feed and only feed whatever your all flock is through molt or until the bag is empty then decide if another bag is warranted or not. When not feeding layer feed you supply the calcium the hens that are laying still need with oyster shells. Most feed stores sell it in bulk so you can pick up a few pounds cheap. Toss a handful or two in the run each week. They'll all peck at it but usually only the birds still laying and need it eat most of it. Personally I never feed layer feed, have multiaged flock and cockerels all the time so every one is on non medicated starter/grower or all on an all flock pellet feed depending on how big the youngest birds are. Oyster shells are used in the layer pen by tossing a hand or two on the ground. Amount depends on how many laying and easily adjusted by noting the thickness of egg shells until you use desired amount.

But I need protein, not calcium. I do have oyster shells though. So not a problem. They get a mix of layer and flock raiser. Idk how much protein is in them, I'll have to check in the morning. However what can I give them for protein?? How often, how much, and How long??

I've heard eggs (don't have enough to use that), dry cat food (only have wet, boiled chicken (idk how to cook that and we don't have any meat), ect

If you're wanting to raise protein without having to mix Feeds, soybean meal or alfalfa meal are good additives to supplement their feed with, and they won't send your calcium content through the roof

Purina flock raiser? If so that is 20% I believe. Most layer is around 16% but certain brands are higher and even a little lower. If you have a bag that still has a tag just check it. ..or Google up the brand and find it there.
An easy commercial feed approach is to mix in some game bird feed. Cat food is popular as a mix in, mealworms, animal protein scraps, etc.
