Hi All! I tried to take pics, but all I got was black blurs! Anyway, I have two young chickens that hatched out under a broody ( had 6, other 4 were eaten by big mean black snake!) on June 28. So they are just barely 4 months now. They have a hatchery Jersey Giant as mom and a "I don't want him any more, you can have him" Easter Egger dad. Both babies are completely black with greenish legs and orange foot bottoms. They both have muffs and their combs are just starting to turn pink. Is this enough info for someone to guess ee cross chick gender? Thanks! If it would help, I can try again to get pics...edited to add images, they aren't the best...but I tried! .

Just pinking up at this age would point to pulleys, but there is no way to really answer without actually seeing the birds. Try putting out a bait pile of treats and then shooting from a bit of distance with a little zoom...keeps them from running away so much

Going down to the coop now...will return with better pics...I hope!
Ok, added pics to first post. They are the black ones that are close to each other. Sorry about pic quality!

Great! Thank you! In a solid color chick, what do you look for? Just comb and waddles or something else? Thanks!

You're welcome. In younger birds cockerels develop larger and redder combs and wattles than pullets, and in the case of pea combed Easter Eggers, the males will have three rows of peas in their combs, whereas females typically have a single row of peas in the comb. As the birds mature, cockerels will develop long pointed hackle, saddle, and sickle feathers whereas pullets will have shorter, rounded tail feathers (like your birds).
