Just wondering what the largest breed of chicken is. My husband wants to get something really big.

Jersey Giants, from breeders, are some of the largest birds.  The males can over 18 lbs, but they are a late maturing breed and are not great layers.

Langshans are also very large (height) and are gorgeous birds.  The females are some of the best Asiatic layers I've ever seen.

thanks mikarod, I really like the looks of the Langshans, I'm a big fan of the feather footed breeds.

Black Jersey Giants. I had one Bruce aka BRUCE LEE. Man did he have a killer jumping front kick. He was one mean roo, he beat up every dog, cat, and human around. Had to keep him cooped up.

You can't leave out the Malay!   They can stand almost 3 feet tall but are rare and certainly aren't for inexperienced people.
