Good news is roo's are easy to find and can be your best poultry dollar as many are free or cheap...even from good quality lines if there are too many.

This is so true. I've seen some very nice looking Marans roosters on my local CL over the years. You really never know what folks in your area are breeding, and with shipped eggs it's easier to wind up with quality cockerels to get rid of.
