well, today my worst dream came true. my most favorite of all chickens has past away. but my question is how? 3 days ago i noticed she was acting different and her comb was turning purple, so i just thought she was cold, so the next day i noticed she was totally different, she would stay still for a and sleep for a bit then get up and go on with her day, and last night before bed-time she was not moving anywhere i had to put her in the coop and in the nest box, and i was really worried, then the next morning i went out and found her on the coop floor... what happened to her?
about her: lucy was a black bantam cochin,she was almost 2 years old she eats layer feed mixed with scratch, grit, oyster shell, and a feather fixer. for a snack we give them bread, mealworms and if i find bugs i give it to them, before she died her comb and wattles were purple but they felt normal.
