I'n actually not sure it's a bug. I think stress has taken a toll on my body finally. Mabe an ulcer... I don't know. I hate going to the doctor. :he

Ulcers are most often a bug. They are caused by a bacteria and are cured with a round of anti biotics that kills the bacteria. Stress does not cause ulcers but can make them worse. The other main causes are Nsaids like naproxin sodium, too much alcohol consumption and a couple others.

Well, I got all seven processed in about 2-2.5 hours or so (skinning). Cried with each one - but was grateful that I've done this enough now to make each a very clean death. The worst part was finding this inside one of them - she would have laid her first egg today. The other CL (eight pullet) did survive the night and went back to the coop to look for the rest, so I caught her and closed the book on this whole thing. I got my weekly weights on the others, now I'm back inside having more coffee, and crying again. I've culled before, a number of times. And I am at peace with the reasons I had for culling these pullets. I just wish I didn't feel like such a monster. :( - Ant Farm
:hugs I know the feeling. The chicks that have issues and have only been alive a few days kill me. I am permanently a monster to myself on the forty five chicks we culled on day twenty peeping in their shells :hit I will always wish that the agriculture expert had been right about them week one of incubation instead of finally getting a definitive answer from the mycoplasma experts two weeks later from the NC vet program. Not to mention all the other chicks dis after we treated them and the cabinet to prevent any of the unrelated eggs from getting it. :( I'm sorry, but it was right for you to do it. Right is often not easy as we all know.

I'd get an ulcer trying to pronounce that!

Helico- spiral like helicopter
Bacter- an abbreviation of Bactetia
Pylori- pylorus is the sfincter, round muscle that close the stomach
It is simple when uou know the mining of the words!

That is why I posted a link instead of spelling it out!

The whole thin is an amazing story though. The Clinician that discovered that H. Pylori caused ulcers presented a paper in the late 1970's. He was laughed off of the stage and called a Quack by Linus Pauling among others. He could not get funding for human trials so infected himself and then cured himself.

....still the Medical community would not believe that Ulcers were mostly(like 95% or so) caused by H. Pylori. There is still a lot or resistance even though the AMA finally added it as the accepted cause and anti antibiotics as the standard treatment..In 2007! Good God that is nearly 30 years of Quackery by the medical profession! Seriously folks, almost all stomach ulcers are cured in two weeks and could have been for 30 years...
