One of these but a hen. Altsterier
The hen is in the shadow.
Beautiful birds - I love your nesting boxes as well!

Good morning/afternoon everyone! I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. We butchered our first roosters this morning! I plucked, my father did the rest. My mother won't cook or eat them, she is too freaked out, so more for us. These were our biggest roos, and they were still pretty small. They are currently in an iced salt water brine. I'll put them in the fridge tonight. I still have 5 more in the basement, but they get to live another week.

So, now I'm taking my daughter to see The Wild Life. Have a great day everyone!

Very good! Make a nice meal out of them! Have a wonderful weekend too!

I am just seeing a program on the events of 9/11
Did you know that the F-16 that were sent to intercept the United 93 flight over Pennsylvania didn't have any weapons on them?
They didn't have the time to be armed? THEY INTENTED TO RAM THE HIJACKED PLAN!!
This is the pilot of that F-16, they didn't have to, because the brave passengers, may God rest their souls in peace, took action and brought the plan down.
This is the brave pilot

Great job getting the birds done! Next time, you get to cut and stick your hands inside!
Have fun with your daughter!

I like the boxes as well now if I could just get the hens to do the same. :lau

I thought you hatch-a-holics would appreciate these photos.

Ever wonder where eggs come from? These are photos of egg yolk follicles before they enter the oviduct. Once the egg enters the oviduct, it will be laid within 24 hours. Hens are born with all the egg follicles they will lay in their life. The large yolks in this photo are about the size of a standard egg yolk once it is laid. You can also see some much smaller follicles, some are as small as a head of a needle.

My uncle came out to do the wiring today and we tryed it a different way and he wires fried through on the cooling side. But now we just did it the way the diagram in the stc thermostat post. And it works but we can't get it to go to the heat settings to set the temp. It only stays on the cooling so I don't know if it burnt it out or what.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to wire but most things that can heat and cool have some sort of breaker or fuse. IF you are so lucky to have a fuse it may be as simple as changing that fuse.

You may well be right. I was flying by the seat of my pants on that one. My screws had rubber washers; I torqued them down pretty snug. It's only been 3 years, but no known problems yet.

Glad you've had no problems yet but they usually do go on the ridge. Even there they can loosen up and cause problems. So who knows.

How's the shed roof coming along.
