Ill take some photos tomorrow. ...i remember when my first pen looked huge hahahahahaha it holds 15....then i added two more, and now two more. This last set of two pens is the largest, it could hold 50 but i am dividing it for meat birds and layers :)

Nope I dont think it matters, they should still get there around the same time, you can hold hers a day to settle since they are fresh

it can only blow as fast as the Volts you are using the 5? it wont blow much but its better than none until you can get another, take pics for yourself so you know how to rewire a new one whenyou find a used one

if that was mine without a baffle on it I would place it so that the air blows to the top of the bator and spreads outward, so THAT ITS NOT BLOWING DIRECTLY DOWN ON EGGS but upwards to blow up and then it will flow out to the heating elements.... so place upsidedown with plenty of shims/distance between the lid and fan.

Use your human thermometer and get a cup of warm water, and the human one will be calibrated all ready, let them sit in the water a minute and take a pic of all the thermometers in the water at once including the human one, put the probe to the electronic one in the water too....


all thermometers should be the same temp..... if not we need to do an ice water bath to reset them.

a little cooler than bathtub water.....

fill the glass up and let it sit for 5 minutes empty

then add the probe and add the above, just fold/roll it a bit to fit in.


after they are in a bit and registering, see how close they are.....

then put your EAR thermo on the OUTSIDE of the glass towards the bottom, but still where water is inside. and see if it reads closest to either of the ones in the water

Ok I am doing the ice water.the one with the probe shows 6.9C witch is 44 degrees Fahrenheit which it does not show how to calibrate it to 32 degrees freezing for the water now it says 7.1 Celsius which is 44.86 I think and the other one with the blood stuff shows,34 degrees Fahrenheit

put pennies in before 1985 so you dont get mold in the wells, copper keeps that at bay.... older pennies have the right copper in them

find a little dish that fits aside yer turner, like a salad cup or something. try not to use the bottom ones until hatch

I had to cut the other end down as my sponge is big, I still had to cut my sponge though.
Works like a charm, plenty of room for eggs to hatch AND it holds extra water to pull from!

I used two galv screwed to the side of the bator
