They need good drainage but can't dry out. I once had them in raised beds and couldn't keep enough moisture on them in mid summer. I also had trouble keeping the weeds out of them when I moved them to a surface level bed.I have no luck with strawberry plants. I won't give up. I just wish I had better luck.
