morning Phil!

I finally had to tell a nurse who kept waking me up in the middle of the night to get the h3ll out & let me alone. I am not a good patient, 'specially when they ask me the same questions over, and over, and over, ad nauseum!  Don't those people ever talk to one another?

Good question!

(What is your name? What year is it? How many fingers am I holding up? Again and again and again!)

I do try to be nice, cause they are just doing what is asked, after all, and they saved my life so I'm grateful for that...... Just sigh-worthy sometimes about lack of communication. :/

Nevermind Banti  I forgot you had the duckies too

Did you know that ducks *can* have medicated starter as long as the medication is amprolium or bacitracin? Heck, Purina actually makes a medicated "Flock Raiser", though I haven't seen it in any stores. What ducklings do need is more niacin than than what's in the chick starter, so that's one reason one might want to feed flock raiser.

I hope so
I like teenagers now, didn't so much when I was one- oddly they mostly liked me but they didn't get me and it annoyed me. Wow great brooders!!
what I do anytime an egg has a weird cell I mark the shell and check back later hatch day or day after and see if it didn't hatch. Of 3 hatches this year each has had one with a weird cell that tried to pip up the cell, different spots in different incubators with different parents... I think my husband must have stored them upside down and the cell must have been loose... The first I thought I would let try over night and it died, the second two I helped- the first of pf those two now has cross beak and the second seems ok so far. But I put a band on their leg to mark them to watch for issues that happen as a result of a difficult hatch. I have had them pip both ends and that way successfully before and I think it's best to wait when you can. Good luck!
thanks! The second one is an olive egger- it's the baby of my barnevelder rooster & one of my Easter or olive eggers - they are all exceptionally cute. Top is a Barnie and bottom is a dom.
yea that's a pretty big chick to hide! What do you think, about 4-5? Weeks?

It has to be older than that. My other chicks are about six weeks old, and this one is a tad bigger. Maybe the same size, but it looks bigger to me. It also does not stay with the others at all. Yesterday, was the first day that my six silver Pencil Rocks were not glued to the hip of my two ducklings. Today, they are back with the ducklings, but not sticking like they used to. So, if it is one of mine, it's an oddball. Both in looks and personality.

Hi MC!

What a morning! Happy Father's Day to Mike and Ken (for now)!!!
Happy Father's Day to the others when they get up!

I was up before six, and went back to sleep (kinda). I was annoyed to be awake again at quarter of seven, and someone texted me at seven. So, scratch the dog's stomach while saying morning prayers.
Go do my "thing" in another room, and get the coffee started while I check the flock.
They were an odd (er than usual) bunch this morning! No idea what the Pekins were quacking about! Maybe someone was in the drake's way. He LOVES me, and would have been ticked to be kept from me.
Then I ... You guys know what morning chores are. Sorry!
There is a black chick in my coop. Unless one of the SPR changed to all black for a while, I have a neighbor's chick.
I tried counting my own chicks, but they kept running around! I will try again later.
I did see my trio of grey chickens. I still think I will keep the trio to see what they produce.
And I was given a compliment (I think. But some would not. They are meanies though.

) this morning. It throws me when that happens.
Thanks, but unless you know something I don't, I'm not a father.

Morning all! Chilling on the north patio with some Jameson infused coffee to help with the arthritis flare up I have going on.

Hello, I hope the arthritis flare up ends soon.

Hello CC!

Quote: They make you fill out forms that look more like novels, then ask you the same questions again. READ the stupid form, or get rid of it! And why they refuse to computerize those forms I'll never understand, since they're pretty much the same in every doctor's office. It'd be a lot easier to fill out at home, and make accessible to all the other medicos.

That's really interesting, quite a mystery! I doubt you wouldn't have seen it for 7? Weeks, is it very skiddish?
