I have blocks of ice and frozen water bottles in their foot baths but they haven't used them yet.

However I have very heat hardy birds and no longer have the likes of orps, rocks, etc.. Those guys/gals used to take turns in the foot baths all day.

Perhaps when we soar over 100, they may use them.
I am installing a fan in one of the coops today.

i was thinking about getting my horse a fan for the flies, and for the hot days, not that we get many of them, but i bet she'd like it

I was turning eggs and heard a few very faint peeps from eggs due to hatch in 20 hours.
I guess the newer eggs won't get turned for a day or two.

I need to set more eggs between now and noon Thursday for the Zodiac hatch.
I don't know if I have room for a dozen more eggs in there.

Hence the reason they use pigs to hunt for truffles. The pig digs them up and the handler trades the truffle for an acorn.

It has been extended to Saturday night.
This is part of an alert I just received from accuweather.
"prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures and high humidity will occur. In addition, nighttime temperatures will remain warm and muggy providing little chance for relief. This combination will create a dangerous situation that heat related illnesses will be likely.
People in the metro area can get information about cooling centers and energy assistance by calling blah, blah, blah.

Stay safe in that humid heat.
