dont you love how fast those babies are! I swore I would loose my lil silky ducks outside so I put the child play yard up to contain them!!!

If the hen sets tight and the nest well insulated, the eggs stay at her body temp. It gets over 100 here and they hatch great. I will put water and food close to the hen so she doesn't have to leave for long. I have seen other types of birds, not sure about chickens, fluff themselves to fan the eggs.

That's okay. My husband and his family are treating me like crap too. I'm used to it. Poor me! I mean ... Pour me! Pour me another glass of whiskey! :-D

I do supervised yard runs, otherwise they are in a netted pen... Calls are a fave snack around here... :/ I've been looking up the Silkie ducks... adorable... can't have more though...
