 I have no mental conditions that require that sort of treatment.
While I disagree, you are the one that mentioned shock therapy.
The shock therapy or the war?
Both!!
I have a question.... My hubby bought a Hov-a-bator brand incubator for me. During the day the digital thermometer (bought separately) reads 102-103 with a fan lightly blowing on the unit, and at night it drops to 98 with a sweater wrapped around it. Are these temperatures okay? Is there anything I can do to stabilize the temperatures better?
I see you have been answered.
Thanks! I'll look at the first page too. :) I'll be setting True Ameraucana eggs. They arrive Tuesday but have to rest 24 hrs before going into the incubator.
:celebrate Awesome!
Morning everyone. DD has settled on a black silkie to replace her hen. THAT I can do.
No pony?! :hit
I can't get her to commit to feeding the dog every day...
But a pony is more exciting!

I had gone back to bed. Life was too overwhelming.

@Chaos18Thanks. I need something for my horizontal nipple waterers. I also want to spend more time on the waterer thread to find a rainwater bigger option, but how do you keep it fresh?
@ChickenCanoe I used tupper for their first week or ten days with dog pads or paper towels depending on the group. I then put them in the dog pen with the tarp plastic pulled up and clipped with several inches of shavings. Pulling it up keeps the shavings in, and the chicks too while they are small enough to get through the holes.

I needed a place for those not quite ready to go out or when my coop was not done. I put bird net I had for my cherry bushes over the top and for less than thirty dollars I got thirty plus square feet for the ones stuck inside when I had another group that needed the starter Tupper.

...
For the nipple buckets I would suggest the bucket heater I previously linked. My buckets have a hole in the lid that I can fill them up through. When they get down about halfway during the winter I will usually just add more water to it.

They don't just leak out? I would like to try the nipple waterers, can you switch a bird over or do they need to learn as chicks?
