Hope they keep developing. I know some people do but I don't candle broody eggs. About the only thing I ever do is mark them when they come off to do their daily duty so I can remove any volunteers.
I've had co-broodies. About the only thing that goes wrong is they continuously steal eggs from each other. I once had 9 pullets together. 7went broody together and one of the others was a part time participant. They only hatched one chick out of about 28 eggs in their community nest. I try to separate them now but I've yet to have a hen go broody this year.
The beautiful thing about a broody is you don't have to do anything except count the chicks when she leads them off the nest to forage.
I am a bit concerned about the broodies' eggs for that reason! There has been so much activity in that nesting box I am not sure the eggs are getting properly incubated, but we'll see. Last night when I went out there, there were actually 4 other chickens squeezed in there sleeping with the 2 broodies.

So day 11/12ish on the incubator. 3/6 eggs are all dark with decent looking air sacs. Is it normal around now to just have the eggs be a dark blob? I know we saw veins a few days ago.

I'm still trying to figure out what's normal looking.

My husband wants to do the water test with them later today, to make sure they are all still viable.

Mornin everyone!
Hi!!

I thought she was when she went to bed, but she's up & complaining of being all jittery inside; making appt. with the Dr. today. She's like her mother was; always something going on healthwise.
And Good morning to you & the rest of the crew..

I'm still several pages behind, but I'm getting there.

Beautiful day out there...only hitting 80* for an hour or less this evening. I think I can handle that.

Bummer, hope she is feeling better soon.

not in the same context

Oh! remember the little green egg i posted? It was a double yolker! my first one EVER and it was out of a teeny egg
bon anniversaire is the same as joyeux anniversaire in this context. Bon by itself however means "good" but when paired with "anniversaire" it can be changed to "happy". Joyeux by itself however just means "happy". So in this instance either would work.
