I like the odor testing better, its more feasible, less bothersome to the eggs, and the dogs benefit as well, just saying

Ya or at least 10 at a time. . Gets it down to 1 second per egg.. I'm sure sexing chicks takes that..it would be nice if they'd make a home version for us back yarders..maybe some day

That was going to be my comment... I doubt they will make it affordable enough for poor little folks like us. But it is very fascinating if they can do it accurately. I'm also glad they have "uses" for the 3-day incubated male eggs.

I'm with Sally; seems like it would be better to train dogs to do it...think drug dogs, or cadaver dogs, or dogs that have been trained to detect cancer in humans (yep, they exist)
