ok need some help trouble shooting what I did wrong with this hatch please. Hatching in a lg fan forced
Ambient temp is 70 with 35% humidity

2 due today were early quitters while the 1 hatched 2 days early, eggs were set same day they were laid. Temps and humidity were stable according to both the digital built in and the accurite ad 99.5-100with 1 drop to 97 for about 2 hours, humidity was running 30-35% on dry method until lock down when increased it to about 50% which cause several temp spikes to 106-109 that caught with in the hour and cooled down. one died at day 15 the other at looks like 18 or 19 , was manually turning them 3 times a day. Chicks are out of my own flock that is healthy.

7 are now in lock down for the hatch Tuesday some of the darker eggs still can't see good in

increased it to about 50% I never go under 65% during lockdown, with close to perfect air cells I go 70
temp spikes are bad at those numbers
always turn more than that when possible

TURNING ITS IMPORTANT

CHICKS Wet? Sticky? Stuck? Yellow Gel? What did I do Wrong? post #25379

well went with 50%,as at 60-65% I ended up with a lot of drowned chicks .and temp spikes seem to only be happening once I increase the humidity in there

I'm over 400 posts behind... Sigh... Anyway, it's day 34 for the Muscovy eggs and it looks like I have one external pip, two internals. One of the eggs have a huge "bruise" at the bottom of the shell, so I doubt it's still alive.

My incubator has arrived, and there are two cracks in the lid.

Now what?
It is plugged in, and I am getting it up to temp. Do I ignore the cracks if the incubator gets to temp, or demand a new lid regardless?
