@Saris - I'm catching up, so forgive if this has already been answered, but you were asking about the direction of turning for saddled cells, with regard to the dip. I asked the same thing (had a hard time getting folks to understand what I was asking). It's not in Hathcing 101 or any of Sally's info that I could see - got an answer from @LocalYokel . He even posted a picture for me.

Think of the saddle as an air sac that is beginning to roll (on the long ends), but still attached on the shorter/dipped ends. If you turn parallel to the long ends (i.e., in the direction of the long parts of the saddle), you would encourage it to roll more. If you turn them the other way, you are reducing the chance of them getting worse. That's how I understood it.

So, you turn toward and way from the dips. It's much easier to understand with the picture - I'm looking for his post now.

Edit: @Sally Sunshine - do you want to comment? Could this be added to the shipped eggs info if it is the right thing to do? (I hope it is, this is what I did with my eggs!!!). See also my post below with the links to LocalYokel's post and picture.

PS: bator was up to typical LG shenanigans. It was warm today so the house got warm so the bator got warm. 103.3 when I caught it. Not sure how long it ran like that. Could have been up to 24 hours, because it was warm yesterday also. I turned on the AC in the house and now it's back to 101.

AC!!!!!  :th

Hope it didn't cause any damage Camping. Can't image AC right now, they are calling for -temps tonight for me.

It was 75 today and GORGEOUS. Nice warm breeze, clear skies. Y'all didn't notice DH and DD and DS in their shorts and tee shirts in all those pics? We ate cold sandwiches on the tailgate for lunch.
I did notice, but have blowing snow & cold temps clouded my vision I guess :gig

Yes, you are lucky, it's stunning up there. Someone else I know was just showing pictures of taking the ferry to Mackinaw Today. Last year they were taking snowmobiles, I guess the Great Lakes just aint freezing over this year

This is Munsing bay....I was supposed to ice fish here today....ICE kinda broke up.
It'll probably refreeze....
Sally our temps here in the interior are supposed to get in the negative twenties.
That's a boat that got stuck...the Indians were out netting whitefish and got trapped.

@Saris see these posts re: direction of turning for saddled cells (once they've rested upright, of course, per Ms. Sally's instructions...). Photo is in the first one.

"I got it - had to look at it a few times. I guess the idea is thinking that a saddle is an air cell that "wants" to roll in the long direction of the saddle, and if you turn it on that axis, you might make it worse, whereas if you pick the other axis, you won't worsen it and the developing embryo gets the benefit of turning. (Correct?) Maybe I was initially confused because I didn't have a good understanding of WHY an air cell becomes saddled in the first place (do I understand correctly that it is partial detachment along just one axis?)"

"Exactly!
I'm not the best with words.
