3 Little Red Hens (RSL),1 big BCM rooster , & a raft of their youngin's

Not but 3 kinds of snakes I'm afraid of; big ones, little ones, and live ones

Have Crappie rod, will travel

Call me Ken,Whites, Whitey, or Red Dog; just don't call me late for supper

Update on Muscovy duckling that hatched yesterday (only day 29): Baby duck is up and running around the incubator this morning. It's definitely active, and everything seems to be fully developed and in the right place. I'm thinking that it's probably blue. As far as I know, the egg came from my lavender pie Muscovy hen and was fertilized by my black pie drake. Hopefully the other 4 eggs will hatch within the next few days. My Seramas are on day 20, and I think I see a pip. What I thought was a pip yesterday turned out to be a piece of fuzz or something, and the chick inside had given up. Hopefully the rest will start hatching soon.

My mini zoo: 2 Beagles, 3 Pygmy goats, 3 horses, 1 Burmese Mountain tortoise, 1 Sulcata tortoise, 2 mini pigs, 2 Sexlink hens, 2 Black Sexlink hens, 1 American Game Bantam pair, 2 Buff Orpington hens, 7 Silkies, 1 Light Brahma pair, Porcelain D'Uccle hen, 7 Bantam Cochins, 1 Crested duck pair, 1 Muscovy pair, 1 Call duck pair.

That's a good idea, do you keep it plugged in to keep it charged. Does it just run the tank?

Good morning Rosco is good looking. When do the hens start laying? I have two legbar hens that are about 5 months old.

You're welcome.

The voices in my head are fighting again.

My imaginary friend is running with scissors, and one of my personalities wandered off.

I don't like to think before I speak. I like to be just as surprised as everyone else about what comes out my mouth.

Sometimes even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with.

I do keep the battery on a maintainer, but I only use the inverter to run the air pump(it's only 75 watts). If it were 300 watts I could run the whole thing but my heater eats 150 by itself. But 75 watts is enough to run the air pump and the bator. The bad thing is the bigger the inverter, the shorter the time the battery lasts. Another option I considered was using a battery powered air pump for a minnow bucket(they take C or D cells I think). But at least they get aeration. I could run the filter but without heat it would make the water cool more rapidly. If you were gonna have a setup like that I would recommend getting an inverter just slightly larger than what's needed to run the whole tank. It's also nice to be able to run 12v lights when the power is out, but I still like a candle:)
