Ok I have three chickens IN THE PEN with chickens wh have had coryza. I'm vaccinating all my chicks today, these three are adults. Should I vaccinate them?

Can you post a video?

Pics of face:

Other than the swelling, any signs of respiratory illness? FWIW, my chicks looked a lot like your chick, except they didn't have any facial swelling. What has this chick been eating? Any chance it got into rancid feed?

-Kathy

Nothing respiratory. I've been giving it drops of poly vi sol and water with the vitamin/electrolyte solution for a week now. Is that just not enough e?

It's been in the brooder with it's hatch mates until I isolated it. They're all fine.

Majority of the time if you see someone trying to sell you "Americana" birds, they're really selling you EEs and think you're too dumb to notice they spelled the breed name wrong. Either that or they legitimately have Ameraucanas and they just can't spell. But yeah, a lot of people get ripped off by thinking they got a pure Araucana or Ameraucana and in reality they came home with an EE.

In our flock: 1 Holland (Martha), 1 d'Uccle (Coreen), 1 BSL (Ethel), 1 RSL (Daisy), 1 Ancona (Duchess), 1 Black Copper Maran (Margherita)

I was going to get CCL but couldn't handle the $250 for a pair when they were first imported and listed for sale. A lot of people bought them, including a guy about 150 miles from me. He gave me first dibs on eggs but he raised his price dramatically by the time they came along. I gave up.

To treat for MG, which I am thinking is influencing fertility rates. The roos have it the worst, and I think it prevents them from breeding as they start wheezing if they run after a hen.

Yeah, those are EE's passed as AM's, the spelling bugs me to NO END though. Wish they wouldn't misinform buyers.

With a fan, I'd put the sensor in the midst of the eggs and heat sources far from the eggs. Perhaps at opposite corners. You just don't want hot spots and cold spots.

Agree, kind of like Orphingtons.

There is a learning curve to the Ameraucana, Araucana thing. In both cases, the au is before the cana.

THAT bugs me like crazy... barnie.gif

Heartland Hatchery spells it that way too, but mcmurrayhatcheries says Aruacana/Ameruacana.

I don't think Poly Vi Sol has enough E.

From my understanding, the American Poultry Association only recognizes the spellings Ameraucana and Araucana. Now it doesn't really matter if you're just wanting blue eggs, but for people who want showbirds and purebred birds it's something you should pay attention to.

Under/between the seats of the car?

The car has not left the garage in a year and a half.
