I'm doing the same thing with the coop I'm building. I'm duplicating a pre-fab that I bought & beefed up; cost me over $300. So far, I have <$90 in it, but I shouldn't need any more materials. I ripped 2x4's that I had to make 2x2's to screw the plywood siding to, I already had a supply of welded wire & hardware cloth, left over from when I built the run for the first coop. Actually, this is the 2nd coop I've built myself. Built the last one from free pallets, but wasn't happy with it, so I decided to copy the one I've had all along, with a couple of modifications. The guys who built the pre-fab job just build 'em to export, they've obviously never tried to work out of oneso am I, lots of my builds are gonna be can I do this and make it or get it to work, I try to use what I have on hand, little bought
I'd be working on the new one now if it wasn't raining; DW take a dim view of sawdust in her house.
