Coop in progress

Ooooh looks great! Is that primer on the outside or the final color of the coop? I like the light, will be nice when you go outside for the fortieth time to check on everybody their first night outside. Do you have any windows?

That is actually the final color. It's really light blue. The windows are the side with the two "doors". I need to add latches to hold them open. I didn't want to go too dark on the color as it gets stinking hot here summer and I worry about the darker colors absorbing heat.

Vents added in and run partial constructed,

The plumbing idea that didn't work (The duct tape was just to cover caulking that I was hoping would help seal everything)

Gravity feeder and eventual oyster feeder

Curtained off nest box

Vent, Plumbing, Window covers and pressure regulator

Another shot of the run. Under the dirt is chicken wire. the whole thing goes about 5 inches or so below ground.

Coop with hopefully the final watering set up. I'm waiting for everything to set before I turn the water back on *crosses fingers*. Took out the poop board and I need to refigure how that will work. Also need a ramp to the perches. I put a scrap over the feeder to keep anyone from pooping if they manage to reach the perches.

This project would be done if the rain would work with us instead of against us lol

I love the sideways vents! And, WOAH, the nest boxes are giant!

I use a nipple waterer from TSC. Works like it's supposed to. Sorry yours didn't- I hate it when something doesn't work when I want it to. And a poop board!

Very nice feeders. I have to say, I like that they take up so little room. Mine is very nice but big and bulky, and every body likes to use it as a step stool.

I like the curtains for privacy. How big are these nesting boxes, anyway?

Very fancy. Does it attach to a hose?

The run looks nice. And kinda muddy. If it makes you feel better, my run is muddy too. (Snow + Sun) What wire will you put up?

Why do you have to worry about poop? Are the girls moved in? Have you seen this thread about poop boards? https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/621363/poop-board-convert-warning-graphic-gross-poop-pictures
Very nice! I, um... put a drop cloth in front of my drafty clean out doors for blowing snow. And moved in the babies. :) They live under the poop board now, all happy and snug. :)

The watering goes to a hose. It's really just one big nest no that's one foot deep by two wide. It looks huge cause we wanted a slanted lid for it. The run is going yo be filled in with sand and 1/4" hardware cloth will cover it. The girls are all moved in :) the second plumbing run worked beautifully. The human access door will eventually have a nice frame on it and that and the vent frames will be painted green. I may end up not doing a poop board under the perches since I'm planning to put sand in the coop as well once I run out of shavings.

Well, tell me how sand goes. There are so many mixed reviews on here. I'd be curious as to how you like it. I still love pine shavings, especially after using horse bedding pellets. They lasted forever, the chickens didn't eat the sawdust, and there was no smell, composted beautifully, but.... it was so dusty! Every time one of the hens flapped her wings, wumph! And it mildewed quickly in damp settings. Pine shavings have most of the ups and none of the downs of horse stall pellets. Unfortunately I can't use hardware cloth on my run, since the cloth net that came with the trampoline is not predator proof. I'll just wrap the bottom in chicken wire and lock them in at night. Running on the last of the construction funds.
