Chicken coop and run help

Thread Starter

I am new to chickens in the processing of purchasing my first house and want to build a chicken coop and run. I would like to have 8-10 chickens. I don't want to pay $2k for a built one so I am looking to build one. I do not need anything fancy but would like it to be aesthetically pleasing as it will be seen. What size is needed for this?

Does any one have a detailed build that includes required materials as well as pictures. If you have steps on it that would be awesome. All I have been able to find is just pictures at different stages during someone's build process.

Thanks,

Devin

Great article on VENTILATION, one of THE MOST IMPORTANT aspects of coop design.

Fantastic treatise to help decide how much SPACE your chickens need.

Chicken math is not just 'addition'...but also should include Division, Multiplication and especially Subtraction!!!

Thanks. Aart. I'll go there.

When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
