Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! The exhibition section of the forum would be a great place for you to start. Here is the link ~https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/...cs-amp-breeding-to-the-standard-of-perfection
I'm sure there will be members there who will be able to help you. I'm afraid I don't show my birds so can't be of much help to you on the showing scene.

I'm a horse rider too ;) Just the one of my own, an ex racer called Harry. What do you have?

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future adm with your training to become a ver nurse. My friend is one and she throughly enjoys it. A very rewarding job you are going to have there.

Enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome to Backyard chickens. I believe in Australia, you have the full sized silkies, while in USA we have bantams. I don't know if there would be differences in the SOP due to that. There are several dedicated silkie threads on BYC. My favorite is just "Silkie thread," but there are also ones for Buff silkies,, nothing but partridge silkies,, paint silkies, etc and a variety of silkie called "showgirls" (they have naked necks or bow tie on neck)

BYS has a great thread "Australia, six states and one funny little Island. "
