You have beautiful chickens! I can't tell my leghorns apart so no names, my RIR is Rosie (clever I know ;)) still decided what to name the roo!
 
Welcome to BYC,  one rooster can handle 10 hens,  any less and they tend to get overbred and physically damaged.   Hens are usually happier without a rooster harassing them, and will lay eggs just as well without them  .


I don't think I could handle letting him go at this point, i am close to getting more hens though.

x2 on the Learning Center and also on Drumstick diva's info on the risk of over-breeding with 2 roos for a small flock. If you have questions, always feel free to ask there are a lot of helpful members here and a ton of information.

Looks like we were posting about the same time. Getting more girls will help your roo to hen ratio!
